The Assistant Banquet Manager assists the Banquet Manager in supervising the overall operation, ensuring that service provided meets and exceeds guest’s expectations. Main responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing all aspects of banquet operation, labour management, and training of the banquet colleagues as well as achieving all set targets and departmental KPI. In the daily running of the operations, the Assistant Banquet Manager has to plan and maximise operational yield with minimal cost through proper planning of schedule and labour, while keeping in mind guest satisfaction and the optimisation of profit. Service is to be carried out systematically and uniformly complying with standards set by the hotel. Primary Responsibilities Oversees Daily Operations and Achieving Targets - Attends briefings and meetings held by the department in the absence of Banquet Manager and updates all latest policies as needed. - Attends daily and weekly Banquet Event Order meeting in the absent of Banquet Manager with the Sales and Events Team. - Possesses in depth and superior knowledge of all food and beverage menus and its preparations and presentations. This includes knowledge of bar and wine operations in Banqueting. - Ensures to provide training and executes banquet operation. - Maintains a productive climate and confidently motivates, mobilises, and coaches team members to meet high performance standards and goals. - Works closely with the Banquet Manager to establish colleague’s working schedule in line with operational requirements and regulations issued by Ministry of Manpower and local Union. - Carries out ad hoc duties as assigned by the management team, including but not limited to collecting Food & Beverage requisition on daily basis, arranging stocks according to “First In First Out” system, sending soiled linen for exchange, sending operational equipment for cleaning or burnishing on weekly basis. - Supervises and assists in controlling the payroll in banquet operation. Requests casuals’ coverage according to the Event Order and Hotel Standards. - Ensures all casuals and 3rd party agencies casuals sign in/out before and after commence work. - Consistently ensures grooming standards of colleagues are as per hotel standards. - Consistently ensures all equipment requisition is raised, approved by Manager and submitted to the Stewarding Department at least 4 days before the actual event. - Ensures that the mise en place for every function is at par stock level and sufficient. - Is familiar with the basic service methods in banqueting including but not limited to Buffet, Coffee Breaks, French, Russian, Outside Catering, Outdoor Venues, etc. - Ensures pristine and perfect levels of cleanliness and appearance of the function rooms. - Ensures that the room set up are accurate, timely and set according to Banquet Event Order or as instructed by the Managers. - Consistently ensures all the function rooms are clean and all equipment is in working condition – tables are aligned, table settings are complete, lighting and sound system are at the correct setting, etc. - Coordinates with the Engineering AV team before the events to check the sound systems and microphone properly configured and test. - Verifies and communicates closely with Organiser’s/Host’s requirement pre, during and after event. - Coordinates with Chef on duty the timing to pick up the food at the food pass area in a timely and efficient manner. - Supervises operation of daily events, ensures sufficient manning coverage for operations. - Takes accountability of any guest complaints within his/her empowerment and informs Banquet Manager, Sales Manager of the Event and F&B office immediately. - In the absence of Banquet Manager, conducts equipment maintenance walkthrough on weekly basis with Engineering team and Housekeeping team and updates F&B Office. - In the absence of Banquet Manager conducts monthly walk-through with Hygiene Officer in coordination with Banquet Chef In-Charge and update F&B Office. - Ensures that all duties, tasks and services are carried out according to the required standards as prescribed by the hotel and in a timely manner. - At the end of the shift, to ensure all checks and report are signed and approved before delivering all checks and reports to the appropriate place according to established standards. - Adjusts service to suit guests’ requests and personalises any interaction with the guest. - Uses a Heartist® approach – makes guests Feel Welcome, Feel Heart-warmed, Feel Incredible, and Belong. Training, Learning and Development of the Team - Conducts regular on the job trainings for colleagues and outsources casual labour to develop their skills and knowledge. - Records and submits monthly On-the-Job Training hours to the manager before the 15th of each month. - Works closely with Food & Beverage Banquet Service Executive to guide the departmental orientation for new hires, ensures that colleagues are aware of hotel rules and regulations. - Ensures that colleagues are trained and adheres to fire and safety, emergency procedures and hygiene. Candidate Profile Knowledge and Experience - Degree/diploma in Food & Beverage / Hospitality Management or minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the hotel and Banquet Operation. - At least 1 year relevant experience in a similar capacity an advantage. - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. - Oral and written fluency in English and an additional language. The Facilities Technician is responsible for daily engineering sections to support the hotel operations Primary Responsibilities Daily Engineering Operations - Operates the equipment to deliver a comfortable room temperature to hotel areas. - Operates the equipment to deliver clean water to the respective services in the hotel. - Operates the equipment to deliver hot water to the respective services in the hotel as required. - Operates the equipment to deliver clear and sharp images from the television and satellites equipment to hotel guest suites as required. - Operates the equipment to deliver audio visual support to the hotel event as required. - Assists and supports the emergency operations team during an emergency and a crisis in a timely and efficient manner. Shift Operations - Rectifies equipment and facilities breakdown as required. - Replaces faulty components / lighting bulbs as required. - Responds to requests relating to technical issues from hotel patrons in a timely and efficient manner. - Collects daily utilities meter readings and verify plant / equipment are in proper operations as required. - Patrols hotel grounds to verify fire and safety risk as required. - Patrols hotel grounds to verify all lightings on hotel grounds operate within the preset timings as required. Plant and Facilities Services - Operates plant facilities to support every aspect of hotel operations in a timely and efficient manner. Preventive Maintenance - Rectifies / Repairs damaged furniture to the highest quality level and in a timely manner. - Rectifies / Paints defective building surfaces to the highest quality level and in a timely manner. Other Responsibilities - Operates the hotel elevators and dumbwaiters as required. - Operates the hotel swimming pool and water fountains as required. - Operates the hotel fire protection services as required. - Operates the hotel drainage and sanitary system as required. - Operates the hotel television and satellites system as required. - Operates the hotel public music system as required. - Operates the hotel lightings and dimming system as required.   Involvement In Wider Job Function Actions/Relationships - Upholds Accor Values of Guest Passion, Sustainable Performance, Spirit of Conquest, Innovation, Trust and Respect, in the execution of all duties and responsibilities. - Participates and supports sustainability in Corporate initiatives and programmes such as Planet 21 – Corporate Social Responsibility, Diversity and Inclusion, Women at Accor Generation, etc. - Performs any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned. Candidate Profile Knowledge and Experience - Nitec Certificate in Building Facilities Maintenance, Electrical / Electronics, Air conditioning servicing and/or Plumbing. - Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. The Housekeeping Attendant (Rooms) is responsible for the immaculate upkeep and cleanliness of all the suites and work areas in their assigned sections. Primary Responsibilities Upkeeping the Comfort and cleanliness of suites - Promotes a positive and inviting image of Raffles Hotel Singapore by ensuring all suites and assigned sections are immaculately clean and comfortable. - Ensures smooth running of the Housekeeping section by performing all tasks in adherence with the code of ethics as issued by Raffles Hotel Singapore. Creates a welcoming room experience that meets residents’ expectations - Ensures residents receive the experience as detailed in brand SOP, Raffles Hotel Singapore local SOP as well as Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) standards, and aims to achieve the targets set by management. - Upholds flawless impression and perception of the Raffles Hotel Singapore products, services and colleagues. - Observes and anticipates resident’s needs in a discreet and non-intrusive manner, offering prompt, efficient and personalised service to our residents. - Ensures observed preferences of residents are communicated with the Assistant Manager for follow up and recording in guest profile. - Reports and hands over lost and found articles to the Housekeeping office immediately. The Housekeeping Attendant (Laundry) is responsible for assisting the overall operation of Laundry Department including, order taking, marking, washing, pressing, sorting, folding and packing of all guest items. Primary Responsibilities Processes guests and linen items ensuring delivery in pristine conditions - Delivers the highest standard of service and quality when processing residents’ and linen items for laundry, dry cleaning or pressing and ensures items are presently immaculately upon delivery. - Ensures guests receive the experiences as detailed in Raffles Hotel Singapore local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as well as Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) standards, and aims to achieve the targets set by management. - Ensures smooth operations of the Laundry sections by performing all tasks in adherence with the code of ethics as issued by Raffles Hotel Singapore. - Upholds a flawless impression and perception of the Raffles Hotel Singapore products and services. - Ensures that any found items (E.g. money, coins, loose items, etc.) in the resident’s laundry are being returned with their garments promptly. - Ensures proper supporting documentations are completed. Records down separately the quantity of Executive Laundry processed for month end charge back purposes.
